Dear Family and Friends
This Christmas the four of us will be Responding to His call… the call for us to go and serve in Austria. Most of you know over the last the year our family has gone through life changing challenges but through those challenges God molded us and shaped us into new people. He taught each of us to have faith that He is in control of our lives, down to the littlest details. When we felt that God was calling us to serve those who have faced challenges that we could never imagine we knew this last year this is what He prepared us for.
From December 16th – January 1st, the four of us will be serving at the Oasis in Traiskircken, Austria and visiting refugee families that have moved from the refugee camps to small pension, what we would call public housing here in America.... Our mission for the two weeks is simply to show the love of Christ and be reminders of hope to all the displaced refugees from Chechnya, Iran, Afghanistan, Africa and many other countries around the world as they wait in Austria for asylum or to be sent back home.
This will be my third mission trip to Austria, but it will be Rob, Robby and Samantha’s first time. When I went to Austria for the first time I did it as a way to serve back for those missionaries that loved on my dad and his family when they were in an Austrian refugee camp from 1947-1955.The second year I went back because God called me back. Little did I realize at the time but He was sending me back because I had more to learn. He was preparing me for what our family was about to go through.
This year God is calling our whole family to go and serve, but not in our usual way. Instead of spending two weeks serving at the Oasis and helping with their regular programs, we will be helping them share Christmas with the refugees. We will also share Christmas with refugees that no longer live at the camp but are still waiting for direction s from the government.
Our family is very grateful to have this opportunity to serve once again, but before we do we need your support in getting us there. Would you please consider partnering with us, both prayerfully and/or financially? In order to meet our goal as quickly as possible, one-time investments of $25, $50, $100 or more are needed. If you feel called to support us financially please make your check payable to International Team and write Simmons Family in the memo line. Then mail your support to Simmons Family @ 505 Conley Drive, Elburn, IL 60119
If you feel called to support us in prayer, please log on to our blog: http://inresponsetothecall.blogspot.com/ We are currently posting on the blog as we prepare for our trip, and we will continue to post on it during our trip and when we come back. Through our blog you will be able to keep up to date with us and see what adventures God has us on, plus hear how God is guiding us and using us to spread His Word! If you’re on facebook you can check on us through Jeni’s page.
Thank you so much for prayerfully considering this unique opportunity to help us plant seeds of hope!
Serving Him Faithfully,
Robert, Jeni, Rob and Samantha
